Voices of Impact 2026 A Year of

COLLECTIVE ACTION AND IMPACT

We invite women in mining leaders and allies from across the world, across generations, roles, and lived histories, to come together on June 15th to mark International Day for Women in Mining. This day is a moment to recognize the people who shape this industry and to reflect on the responsibility that comes with the work we do.
Mining continues to build nations, power transition, and sustain families and communities. At the same time, it asks more of us. It asks that our leadership is not only defined by what we achieve, but by how it is experienced by others. The impact of this industry is not measured in output alone, it is measured in safety, inclusion, equity, trust, and in the strength of the relationships we build.

This year, we are bringing forward two areas of focus. The first is the shift from commitment to credibility, where social performance is demonstrated through what people and communities experience, not what is promised. The second is the role of inclusive innovation and technology, where the future of mining is shaped by how diverse perspectives are integrated into the systems and decisions that define our work.

Maria Jose approaches this work through mining law and ESG governance. Audrey approaches it through culture engineering and building accountable, diverse, psychologically and psychosocial safe workplaces. We stand in different disciplines, yet we share the same conviction. As mothers and business leaders, we cannot separate our professional commitments from our responsibility to the future.

We invite you to stand with us. To contribute, lead, and use your voices to celebrate this day that reflects the future we are all part of shaping.

With Gratitude,

Audrey and Maria Jose

AMBASSADORS

We begin by acknowledging and expressing our sincere gratitude to our 2025–2026 IDWIM Ambassadors for the leadership they have carried over the past year. In representing the international body of women in mining, they brought forward a voice of impact that was both meaningful and visible. Through their commitment, they elevated others, strengthened connections across the global community, and contributed to advancing the work of inclusion, accountability, and progress within the industry.

Their contribution has not only reflected the values of IDWIM, it has helped move them forward in practice. We thank them for the responsibility they embraced and the standard they set.

As this chapter closes, we now see that leadership carried forward, as they pass the baton to this year’s ambassadors, continuing the momentum and the shared responsibility of representing women in mining across the world.

AMBASSADORS

The IDWIM Ambassadors represent a global network of leaders whose contributions are shaping the present and future of the mining industry. Across three distinctions, Global Ambassador, Emerging Leader, and Emerging Ally, each role reflects a different dimension of leadership, influence, and responsibility within the evolving landscape of mining.

Our Global Ambassadors are individuals whose leadership is already established and recognised across the industry. They bring visibility to what responsible, inclusive, and accountable leadership looks like in practice. Their work extends beyond individual achievement, influencing systems, strengthening communities, and setting a standard for how impact is created and sustained over time.

Our Emerging Leaders represent the future of mining leadership. They are advancing with intention, demonstrating capability, courage, and a clear commitment to growth and contribution. Their leadership is actively developing, yet already visible in the way they engage, influence, and contribute to the industry. They reflect what is possible when opportunity, support, and determination intersect.

Our Emerging Allies represent a critical and often under-recognised dimension of progress. They are individuals who use their position, voice, and influence to actively support the advancement of women in mining and to contribute to more inclusive and equitable systems of work. Their leadership is demonstrated through action, advocacy, and a willingness to stand alongside others in driving meaningful change.

The 2026–2027 Ambassadors embody the values at the core of International Day for Women in Mining. They reflect the progress being made across the industry and the responsibility we share in continuing that progress. Each ambassador contributes to a broader global movement grounded in accountability, inclusion, and the advancement of mining as a responsible and sustainable industry. We extend our appreciation to our past, present, and future ambassadors for the leadership they demonstrate, the standards they uphold, and the example they set for others across the world.
